Accepted Vegetables in America

I’ve been trying to come up with a definitive list of ‘accepted’ vegetables in America. By accepted I mean you actually see these advertised alongside meat and dairy. They are not scoffed at, nor silently resented. They are not seen as a threat, a ‘diet food’, or a ‘Secular-Progressive’ encroachment. Here’s what I have so far:

Accepted Vegetables in America
a list by Cody Clarke

– Peppers
– Onions
– Potatoes
– Corn
– Tomatoes
– Iceberg lettuce
– Sweet potatoes (Thanksgiving only)

That’s all I can come up with. If you can think of any other good ones, I’ll add them to the list!

Okra, too, but that’s more regional. You see it more accepted in the south, oddly.

i think it’s silly because squash has relatively low nutritional value and bland taste. yet it’s hugely popular.
