The Woman Who Sees Me

The Woman Who Sees Me
by Cody Clarke

Women on treadmills

Headphones blaring
the songs from all the stores
they frequent

Emotionless
as they face the world
through glass

Every time I walk down that street
to my girlfriend’s dorm
I stare them in the eyes

but they never look back
because their trance
is their whole personality

And kissing her at her door
I thank God
for The Woman Who Sees Me
